Exeter Dance Festival has been encouraging and celebrating young dancers for more than 40 years.

It started as a two day event at St Georges Hall, moved to the Barnfield Theatre where it grew into the huge Festival it is now and transferred to its new venue, the Corn Exchange in 2013. Its a round trip for the Festival as The Corn Exchange started life as St Georges Hall!

We are proud to have become a heat for the All England Dance competition which takes place every two years and to have developped our own Young Dancer competition which invites dancers from all aspects of the professional dance world to teach our young dancers a solo in various genres.

We have enjoyed many amazing guest teachers, Adam Cooper, Wayne Sleep, Brenda Last, Mark Silver and Frank Freeman to name a mere handful! Every year many young people bring their talent to Exeter Dance Festival and we hope to continue to support and encourage them as we have for the past 40 years.

New dance styles develop but the talent and enthusiasm of every one of the dancers has never changed. Long may it continue
